The Chalet Pico is part of the inheritance of the mountain guide Othmar Kronig, who had the honour of being a member of the rope team of the Swiss mountain pioneer Yvette Vaucher from Geneva that climbed the North Face of the Matterhorn in 1965.

She was the first woman to overcome the North Face.
